Conference Information

  1. Who is it for?
This seminar is designed for parents and practitioners alike. You will gain insight into the real world of advocacy, learn key aspects of special education law, discuss ways to support meaningful inclusion and explore ways to create strong IEPs for your children and students. Whether you are a parent, teacher, therapist, aid or administrator in the realm of special education - this seminar is for you.
  2. What is the purpose?
This seminar will be a mix of learning and collaboration on how to improve outcomes for students with disabilities while finding strength and wisdom in those walking the journey beside you. You will have the opportunity to talk through your child's existing IEP, ask questions, and brainstorm on areas of improvement. Come ready to learn, laugh and advocate. And bring your IEPs!
  3. When is it and where is it located?
Join us on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Hope Community Church, 2080 E Williams Street, Apex, NC 27539. The seminar will begin in Room 13 at 9:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM. Check-in will open at 9:00 and there will be a one hour break for lunch. Enter through the main doors for check in.
  4. What should I bring?
Make sure you have something to take notes with. Feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks. If you are a parent, be sure to bring your child's IEP as you will have hands on time to explore ideas on progress, build from the knowledge and experience of those around you, and have your questions answered by a special education advocate.
